Virserum hosts its annual fair over a weekend each year between July and August. The fair dates back several centuries and is one of Sweden’s biggest. Up to 60,000 visitors come annually to browse the more than 400 stands selling everything from traditional homemade Swedish fare to clothing and tools. Kids love the funfair with all the great rides, and the adults enjoy a meal and a drink in the evenings with great music entertainment and dancing. For the local population, it is also an excuse for old friends to get together and Virserum is buzzing with extra activity every year when the fair is held.
